Naoshima Island, also known as The Art Island, is on the South West of Japan's main island. What was once a sleepy industry village (with a large manufacturing plant) has transitioned into a hot spot for art loving tourists. Benesse House museum was the first to open in 1992, closely followed by Chichu museum and Lee Ufan museum. In addition, a number of unused local homes have been converted into art exhibits of their own, collectively known as The Art House Project. Way back in June 2011 I travelled to the South of France for the Cannes Lions festival. I saw some amazing speakers including Malcolm Gladwell, Eric Schmidt and Patti Smith. I also had many many drinks at some amazing parties with some amazing people. In between all that, I took some photos with my Canon AE-1 loaded with some trusty rolls of Tri-X.
Singapore Stopover
In the beginning of 2015 I was lucky enough to travel to Singapore with Ogilvy (for my day job as a Strategic Planner). Whilst I was very busy all week, I did manage to sneak out to take some photos before flying home on my last day.
